"Body
of Proof" Studio
When the new
hit series Body of Proof came to town, they needed to renovate
the studio space quickly and effectively. They didn't choose
foam due to the smoke development, they didn't choose sprayed
fiberglass due to the lack of bond strength and durability,
they chose K-13. They are not alone. The Brotherhood, Providence,
and The Notch are also among the many new studios in the New
England area that have utilized the multiple characteristics
of K-13. Transforming this rusted metal building and providing
R-Values and superior Noise Reduction was completed in less
than 10 days.

Acura
of Peabody
Never mind the
showroom, go to the service area of this new Acura dealership
and ask the staff what they think about the newly installed
K-13 acoustical treatment. With reverberation times over 4
seconds, the noise levels in the garage area made the working
conditions unbearable. During the 5 day application, as each
section was completed, the staff was amazed by the results.
After final completion, a conversation can now be had from
one end of the garage to the other.

Genzyme
With the ever
increasing use of radiant floor heating in commercial buildings,
it did not take long for engineers and architects to find
out that K-13 offers a safe and cost effective way to keep
the heat rising. This latest installation includes this 150,000
board foot application around the perimeter of the new Biologics
Support Center for Genzyme. This is certainly not the first
application for Genzyme, K-13 has been utilized in their Alston
and Northboro facilities as well.

Vinyl backed
fiberglass batts certainly are the most economical solution
to insulating a metal building, but it clearly is not the
best long term solution. This 40,000 square foot renovation
included the removal of the original insulation and replacement
with K-13 Spray-On Thermal Insulation. Applied at a 2"
monolithic coating, the K-13 is providing an R-Value of 9.4
along with a Noise Reduction Coefficient of 1.05. The removal
of wet ripped and sagging fiberglass insulation is not a novel
one, A.T.I. performs the cut and replace application several
times per year. |

Gibson
Dog Kennel
This state of
the art dog kennel in Grafton Massachusetts is one of several
recently completed with K-13 to lower reverberation times.
With the recent data suggesting that the acoustical performance
of the kennels contribute to nervousness and sickness among
pets more attention is being put into the performance of the
space. The application of the K-13 reduced noise levels to
an acceptable level providing comfort to customers and overnight
guests.

Take
out the earplugs and listen to what Ty-Wood Corporation of
Holliston Massachusetts did to reduce reverberation time in
their press room. 1.5" of White K-13 was applied to the
ribbed metal deck and perimeter walls to achieve a Noise Reduction
Coefficient of 1.05. This application was retrofitted with
all the computerized machinery in place and performed on a
3rd shift schedule without any loss of production in the plant.
